Week 2 of “My Life in Film” challenge for this fine beautifully cold 2013.
Back in London. It was a quiet week of study.
If you want to follow all the stuff I’m doing, I’ll be updating it with my collective works together.
Tour of London and the Camden Lock Couple.
—I haven't done this in a while. Time to caress that narrative curve.
Currently editing a behind the scenes video of the amazing band Bitter Ruin. Filmed it in Brighton last week.
I’m never satisfied, so I’ve been dwelling on this video for a bit…should be up by the end of the week!

The Darklings Documentary - Promo Video
So, this the video we had to present during our final year thesis presentations, to show our progress during the documentary making.
It’s kind of a little promo video, but just shows some clips of us meeting different Darklings [The Darkness fans], Justin Hawkins the frontman of the band, myself and Róisín my documentary partner in crime roaming around the UK.
Róisín put it together back in March to give a taste of what we were upto.
Feel free to share it. I’m going to see whether we will enter the documentary into a festival or share it online to the public. I’ll keep you posted!
—When I was in Toronto, we decided to do a a photoshoot inspired by photographer Joey Lawrence and replicate a shoot he did with Foxy Shazam.
My friend Cian Markey shot the photo with the help of our good friends Kate, Ellie & Kevin who held lights and tin-foil as reflectors.
We shot it down a side alleyway at night in the centre of Toronto with very cool drooping bulbs that hung between the two buildings.
I unfortunately am the fool trying to contort myself not quite as majestically as frontman Eric Nally. Using a broom as a microphone…
I love doing off the cuff photoshoots, this is the benefit of surrounding yourself with creative friends. You can just do ridiculous fun stuff that looks pretty cool.
Filming Doggy Style
This is the behind the scenes video of the video portrait shoot I did with model Helena Linder.
Her two little doggies were there Buddy & Bonnie, this is the silliness that happens when you work with doggies.
—Outtake from my thesis documentary; backstage with Justin Hawkins in The Olympia Theatre after The Darkness played in Dublin. Trying to prevent my flitting eyes when interviewing. It’s tough! First interview of the documentary, so it was all bit nerve wrecking, being in front of the camera is not my strong point.
I’ll post a few more outtakes from the others involved in it over the next week! It’ll be available in June to be seen…if it gets the all clear of course.
